CAT 2009 results to be out today

The CAT scores will be available anytime now. Under tremendous pressure the IIMs for the first time is going for a two stage process for the declaration of results. Sachin reaches 200...world cup 2011 beckons

The first question when Sachin broke 194 was how many of my friends are watching. It was answered in two minutes when my best friend called up to inform me about the feat. Well if he was watching I was sure that entire India was. (He is far from a cricket fan to say the least). The next thing that came to my mind was how privileged we have been to have witnessed the best innings ever by the 'Master' who might just become the first batsman ever to score a 200 in limited over internationals in a very short time. Sachin's innings was laced with 25 fours and 3 sixes and though he cramped up in the end he refused to stay down. Now however a ice bath and a one or two hours of nap seems warranted.

I remember watching a talk show yesterday where when Ajay Jadeja was asked to pick his player for the match he picked up Sachin but little did he know how Sachin will repay his faith. However from the initial stages of the innings only Sachin was in dominant mood even outscoring Sehwag in the brief partnership they had. Then comes the most confusing part. Why make Kartik bat at Number 3? Why not give someone like Raina the chance? However after the early hiccup Sachin continued in a dominant mood and had a 194 run partnership with Kartik. Finally when the entire nation started wondering how long will Kartik continue slowing the run rate down he got out. Goodness gracious!!! Then Pathan came to the crease and the power play was taken. The power play featured some deft strokes by Sachin and huge blows by Pathan and by the time the power play was over South Africa were staring down the barrel. The final nail in the coffin was a quickfire 68 by Dhoni.

CAT results delayed again

In what was the shortest announcement so far and probably ever the CAT results have been delayed again. IIM Ahmedabad personnel came out with this announcement leaving the students of the entire nation on tenterhooks for another week. The reason for this delay has been sited out to be delay in the shortlisting process. According to reports the evaluation process is over. Here's hoping the deadline will be maintained this time. Pune bomb blast - Terror strikes and its time to strike back

Well well well happy valentine's day everyone and what a way to wish for some psychopath bastards, by killing almost a dozen people and injuring over 50. Till now no one has claimed responsibility for this attack but my guess is as good as everyone else's as to the minds behind this attack. Slimy bastards if you have the guts why do you not fight a war? Anyway I believe the way forward is very tricky as a peace talk is on the way this 25th FEBRUARY. So much for that!!! I just do not see whom are these terrorist outfits benefiting. Certainly not their own country. Like Pakistan can survive without India's charity

DREAM OF A DEVELOPED COUNTRY

I have stated the problem and now for the solution. The only way to answer such unwarranted attacks is to be self sufficient. Like America answered back by destroying an entire country till the terrorists were killed so will we when anyone drops a bomb or does something like holding our country at ransom over TAJ hotel. So let us together make a country which has the best scientists, best engineers, best doctors, best lawyers and so on. Let us not go out of our country for better opportunities. Rather let us create better opportunities for our coming generations.

MR THACKERAY - WHERE IS YOUR SENA?

MR Balasaheb Thackeray once very proudly boasted about making suicide bombers. So Mr Thackeray where is your Sena? Is your Sena just good for not letting a movie release or do they fight some real wars. Before fighting for Marathi reservations protect them. Two attacks in two years and with Mr Thackeray still there. Is it the same Mr Thackeray who singlehandedly bought glory to the Hindus in the 92-93 riots? If it is please unleash all what you have got and prove the point - That Maharashtra is safe - Safe for everyone, even if everyone is not welcome.

Industrial Output at 16.8%

This is the first time I am actually sharing my trading ideas on a blog because I believe the time has come when I can confidently say that I know at least enough to blog it out.

The latest news is industrial output is at 16.8 % and every trader is wondering on how do we approach trade on Monday. The facts which are to be considered primarily are in spite of a stellar November IIP number also the markets fell that very same day. Positive surprises from earnings are not giving the markets the leg up at this moment and on the days of extremely positive global cues the market is at best sluggish with one or two rallies which mostly comes in the 9 to 10 window. After that any rally increases the selling pressure. However the market is reacting violently to any negative news. L&T fell almost a 100 rupees when its result did not meet the street estimates. So all these just necessarily suggest that the IIP numbers will not affect the market much and even if it goes up on Monday it will surely be followed up by selling pressure on Tuesday. This might just be the exit strategy for everyone who is stuck at higher levels.

However one thing that most people who are coming on TV 18 is missing is that the market was desperate for a correction for a pretty long time. Therefore this is just being used by people as the opportune moment to get into the market and with every fall more people are entering the markets. Besides FII's have been withdrawn relentlessly and that is also a reason for such a fall and not that the Indian investors are losing faith. So whenever there is a pumping back of the money the markets will rise again and probably break 5280 on the nifty( its intermediate high). Anyone who has been tracking the entire globe must remember how China fell o 2500 when the FII's were withdrawn and how quickly it reached back to 3200. So what my advice is start covering your shorts because this might just be the leg up the market needs for its pre-budget rally. Signing off.

Well all the hullaboolaa on Wednesday and Thursday aside it was time for some serious business on Friday. Well who better when it comes to firing when the chips are down than SRK and he really set the rest of India on fire and the Shiv Sena fuming.

The movie starts on a very slow note giving the audience to exactly grasp what is the asperger syndrome. There on it starts gathering pace and gives a very next door description of Shah Rukh Khan's oscillating feelings between Jimmy Shergill the jealous brother, Zarina Wahab the caring mother. The first half also vividly portrays a very caring sister in law who actually finds out what Shah Rukh is suffering from and the part has been extremely well essayed by Sonya Jehan.

The second half kick starts in a very fast pace as the audience starts weeping in approval. It mostly features Shah Rukh in his quest to meet the president and the obstacles faced. The movie raises a serious issue that not all Muslims are terrorists but does not really provide an answer to 'how do we know who is what?'
